A crowd favourite study break game with a little bit of counting and a whole lot of throwing!
Game Type: Study Break
Recommended Ages: 6+
Number Of Players: Whole class
Equipment Required: Nil
Where To Play: Indoors
Duration: 5 minutes
Objective
Throw more newspaper bombs onto your opponent’s side of the room.
How To Play
Step One: Each student scrunches up a piece of paper. This is a ‘newspaper bomb’.
Step Two: Group your students into two teams and divide the room into two territories. Each team must remain in their territory. Hint: Place a metre ruler on the floor to indicate the dividing line between the two teams, this will help when counting the newspaper bombs later in the game.
Step Three: When you say ‘go’, each team must throw the newspaper bombs into the other team’s territory. They may throw back any newspaper bombs that land in their territory.
Step Four: When you say ‘stop’, each team must collect all the newspaper bombs in their territory and count them. The team with the fewest newspaper bombs wins though you don’t really need to keep score as all the fun and glory of Newspaper War is in the throwing!
