A fun throwing and catching game perfect for that five minute study break!
Game Type: Study Break
Recommended Ages: 8+
Number Of Players: Whole class
Equipment Required: Nil
Where To Play: Indoors
Duration: 5 minutes
Objective
Throw and catch the ball without dropping it.
How To Play
Step One: Students spread out around the room.
Step Two: Choose a player to start and give them the ball. Tip: A tennis ball or similar sized ball is perfect.
Step Three: Students take turns passing the ball to each other. Each time they pass it, they must move to a new space in the room.
Step Four: At the start of the game, students may use both hands to catch the ball. If they drop it once, they may catch with their right hand only. If they drop it again, they may catch it with their left hand only. If they drop it again, they can only catch with ‘dinosaur arms’ (elbows tucked against their sides). Whenever a student successfully catches the ball they may use both hands to catch again.
Step Five: During the game, encourage students to pass accurately and from nearby to any players unable to use both hands to bring them fully back into the game.
