Swatter

A killer game to get your students revising those must learn topics!

Game Type: Revision

Recommended Ages: 6+

Number Of Players: Whole class

Equipment Required: Two fly swatters (Rolled up newspaper or magazines work just as well!)

Where To Play: Indoor

Duration: 10 minutes

How To Play

Step One: Write the facts you want your students to practise on the white board. Alternatively, you may place the facts around the room on pieces of paper as in the game Bang Bang.

Step Two: Choose two students to stand up and hold a fly swatter. HINT: You may like to lie the swatters on the floor some distance from the students instead so they must retrieve their swatter’s first.

Step Three: Ask the students your question. For example, what is 1/2 plus a 1/4?

Step Four: The first student to swat the correct answer with their fly swatter is the winner. The winner remains standing and a new challenger is selected to stand up and play.

Variations

Automatic Retire: A student who wins three swat contests in a row is named ‘Louis The Fly’ and two new students are selected to play.
