Jiggly Puppets

A fun little study break game perfect for early years students!

Game Type: Study Break

Recommended Ages: 5-8

Number Of Players: Whole class

Equipment Required: Nil

Where To Play: Indoors

Duration: 5 minutes

How To Play

Step One: Students spread out around the room so they all have plenty of space Hint: I usually say that if you can’t touch anybody then you are in the right spot.

Step Two: The teacher is the ‘puppeteer’ and the students are the ‘puppets’. When all students are nicely spread out, the teacher pretends to have a stick with strings that controls all the puppets and mimes lifting the stick up and down. In response the students jiggle like crazy.

Step Three: After a short time, mime cutting the strings. When you do, the students fall down.

Step Four: Play it a couple of times and explain that each time the strings are attached to different parts of their body such as their legs, arms or head so they can only jiggle that part of their body. Jiggly Puppets is great to building awareness of body movement in early years students.
